Custom Slip Ring Winches

HPUs are custom-designed to match the power requirements of the winchODIM Brooke Ocean supplies winches and cable handling systems for a variety of applications. Our specialty is small, portable slip ring winches for deploying and towing instrumentation. Units can be supplied with both electro-hydraulic and electric variable speed drives.

Winch products include portable units which can be carried by two people. These are suitable for overboarding and towing small instruments and packages. ODIM Brooke Ocean can also supply larger winches for towing and overboarding payloads such as CTD rosettes and towed bodies.

Winch undergoing testingOptions include level wind, Lebus shell and joystick control on a wandering lead.

Automated winches can also be supplied which utilize the control system developed for our Moving Vessel Profiler.
